Underhill Field Gets a Makeover!
The Fields Rennovation Project, spearheaded by Fred Profeta '57 and SOMSD BoE Member Beth Daugherty saw a major step completed with the playing of the first football game at the newly rennovated Underhill Field, now called the Lynn F. Profeta Alumni Field which is housed at the Underhill Sports Complex. Lynn Profeta served the district as a teacher for over 30 years. Major donations from Fred Profeta. his brother, Paul '62, and Seton Hall University made it all possible.

Spring Time around CHS!
There are lots of great scenes around the school this time of year. From the front hall to the courtyard, art and life imitate each other! The courtyard path has been repaved thanks to CHS PE teacher Viola DeLuca (order forms for more pavers are linked at the top of this page-see example below). CHS Teacher and local resident Ellen Weisbord put her SOMEF grant to work with the beautiful art hanging around the first floor. The pictures were completed by CHS freshmen (class of 2011).

Our Mission
What is it that attracts us to our old high school friends? It is undoubtedly a combination of factors. We grew up with one another. Some of us first met in kindergarten. Our developing personalities were impacted by all of the exchanges between us - the games, the classroom events, the social events. The high school years are often a vulnerable time, and many of us can thank our friends for helpful support and understanding in times of need. So it is that these friends, wherever they are located, provide us with meaningful reference points by which we know where we've been and can gauge where we're going. We need to stay in touch.
The Alumni Association is dedicated to the maintenance of these old friendships and Columbia's tradition of excellence, which tradition fostered and enhanced those friendships. A group of local alumni, educators, and friends of Columbia came together as an organizing committee in 1992, and filed as a New Jersey non-profit corporation on March 1, 1994. Our mission is as follows:
1. To establish a network for communication among alumni and to provide alumni with news about Columbia High School.
2. To involve alumni in efforts which support the excellence of education at Columbia High School.
3. To develop school pride and encourage exchanges between alumni and students.
4. To foster the organization of alumni classes and facilitate the holding of reunion events.
